The Presiding Bishop & General Overseer

LLOYD TYRELL ALSTON, the youngest of four male children born to the late Deacon T. C. & Deaconess Sandra Alston, received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized, by immersion, at the South Street Missionary Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, under the hand of the late Pastor Ernest Battle, Sr.  There, he grew and matured in God while starting to sing and develop a deep passion for music, praise, and worship beginning at the tender age of three (3).  His grandmother, the late Mother Margaret Hawkins Alston, reared him in Holiness and Pentecostalism through the Cornerstone United Holy Church in Littleton, North Carolina, there of which he became a son of the Southern District Convocation of the United Holy Church of America.

Proving that one must “study to show themselves approved,” he graduated from the Northwest Halifax High School; North Carolina Central University, with the Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature; Grand Canyon University, with the Master of Education degree in Education Administration, specializing in School Leadership; Hampton University, with the Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Leadership; and Hood Theological Seminary, with the Doctor of Ministry degree in Homiletics and Preaching.

Lloyd heeded the call to the Gospel ministry when he was 10 years old and has been serving in the Gospel ministry for the past 33 years.  During this span of time, he has been elevated through the ranks of the church having served as Usher, Choir Director, Organist, Sunday school teacher, Associate Minister, Itinerant Elder, Presiding Elder, Adjutant General, Senior Pastor, Overseer, Bishop, and as Apostle.

Carrying the mantra, “a charge to keep I have and a God to glorify,” he serves as the Presiding Bishop & General Overseer of the Covenant Kingdom Fellowship Assembly, a correlation of Christian churches, ministries and para-ministries, pastors and ministers who recognize the need for networking, accountability, fellowship, trust and integrity, and an outlet for resource facilitation, and as the Pastor of the Cornerstone Covenant Ministries.  In deference, he is in covenant with the Grace Cathedral Christian Fellowship as member of the Board of Bishops, the International Council of Pentecostal Ministries as Bishop of Protocol, the Joint College of African-American Pentecostal Bishops, and the Hampton University Ministers’ Conference.  He is married to his partner in life and ministry, Andrea, and together they have two children, Donovan Jariq and Londyn Trinea.
